I think we can manage it. I think we could sneak off to Spain before this baby comes in October.
Yes, I know it would take some planning, but I’d love a long weekend in the late summer sun. So I’m on the hunt for a villa holiday in Spain.
Where to go in Spain?
I’ve already chosen where I want to go – the Costa Tropical on the southern coast. Look at this beach villa in Herradura. It’s completely stunning.
Our own pool to float about in! Tibbs is doing amazingly well with her water confidence, and I’d love to be able to relax in the water and cool this bump down!
Last time I was pregnant, we left a holiday in the Quantocks early because the bed was so awfully uncomfortable. But look at this one – cool breeze from the balcony, and in another shot, you can see a sofa in the bedroom too. Basically, my dream!
Styling pregnancy on holiday
One of the things I’m a bit daunted by is being heavily pregnant and staying cool on holiday, so I’d have to think quite carefully about what I wear. I was newly pregnant in Spain on a holiday to stunning Tarifa this time three years ago. I absolutely rocked the maxi dress trend, and always had a floaty scarf to hand – I was in that stage where you think everyone can ‘tell’ even though nothing’s changed.
This time, I’m thinking floaty, colourful kaftans. I already have one which I bought in Delhi, which I adore. But here’s a selection of others I’d think about purchasing. I particularly love the feather print Traffic People kaftan from ASOS
Monsoon has some lush beach dresses in. If you’re newly pregnant, this would be glorious and so suitable for the Spanish late summer.
